Several of the officers seem to have been scheduled for promotion in 1846. My favorite thing to note is that Graham Gore is mentioned as “Lieutenant” in the first part of the Victory Point Note, May 1847. But in the second part, he is referred to as “the late Commander Gore,” in April 1848. He also is among the men promoted in England in 1846, in absentia.

Graham Gore, such a notable officer that he was promoted in two hemispheres, about a year apart, without communication between the two.
