i earned my url by only ever rereading specific selected chapters from the first 3 books and pretending i didn't know they made a tv show of it and frankly people just need to respect that

top 5 armitage moments [eyes emoji]
Sorry I took a bit to respond! First I had to get my Thots together and then I made some gifs, just for fun!

Considering the fact that Heather had just been horrifically attacked and maimed by the Tuunbaq right in front of him, I appreciate how together Armitage is here. Not only is he able to give a coherent report of what has occurred to Crozier, but, before the officers arrived on the scene, he was right at the gunwale, guarding Tozer and Heather against potential subsequent attacks. I’ve mentioned before what a Choice it is to have Armitage, a steward, be guarding the sergeant of marines, who’s tending to his fallen comrade, in his introductory scene and I’m saying it again now.
Also… the Eye Contact…

You know why this is here. Because it’s the one scene where Armitage isn’t completely miserable and seeing his smile brings me a ridiculous amount of joy.
Oh and also because of the way he grabs Tozer as he falls

I’m using this image because it’s less depressing than others I might have used. Which is also why this is comparatively low on the list; it just feels wrong to put this part too high on a list of “top” moments when it’s so sad. I’m pleased to have discovered it because of its implications for Armitage’s character (i.e. - that he cared enough to do everything in his power to help Tozer save Heather and, failing that, saved Tozer from himself) but it’s just A Lot.
I did create a gif that shows a bit more clearly where Tozer and Armitage are as the crowd is flowing out of the tear Hickey made in the tent so that you can see that Armitage is, in fact, pushing Tozer forward with his arm across his chest. (I know the text looks wonky, I’m sorry… I did this frame-by-frame in photoshop lmaooo):

This scene is also pretty depressing considering how quickly Tozer rejects his suggestion but I appreciate that Armitage cared enough to try to save him, once again. I also appreciate that he couldn’t bring himself to leave Tozer either, going along with Hickey’s nonsense, despite his misgivings, rather than making a break for it when he had the chance. It’s sad, yes, but his endurance in love makes me happy, and it’s something he’d clearly made peace with by that point anyway.

This is such a fantastic moment. Armitage gets to rescue Tozer who, right before this, he thought he was about to lose forever over something that was just as much his fault. And he looks good doing it too!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Bamboozling Edward Little Together Is Something That Can Actually Be So Personal.
Thanks so much for the ask!!! <3
